How Easy It Is to Recycle Your Scrap Metal

Have you ever been to a scrap metal yard? Have you ever had piles of metal and wire build up at your house or job site not knowing what to do with it? For first-timers sometimes a scrap yard can look a little intimidating with piles of metal and heavy equipment running everywhere but rest assured it is easy. Allied Salvage & Metals has friendly staff and an organized program to make sure your experience is quick and painless – and you leave with cash!!

A phone call (604-322-6629) or visit to the office is usually best to start with. Once you arrive at our property (11651 Twigg Place, Mitchell Is., Richmond, BC) we can guide and explain to you exactly what will happen and where you need to go. Essentially you will first get a Gross or full weight of your vehicle and your material on our industrial platform scale (in ground). In our yard it is easiest to back in, then you will be facing our friendly scale staff who will let you know they have your weight. Then we will direct you to the area in the yard where you will be unloading. We have lots of various machinery to help un-load according to what you have including cranes with grapples and magnets, forklifts, and skid steers. For smaller amounts usually of aluminums and coppers we have 2 smaller platform scales available. Our staff are always available to help whenever un-loading, priding ourselves on our stellar customer service and friendly attitudes

Once you have unloaded all your material you will then go back onto the platform scale (if necessary) for a Tare or empty weight – we pay you for the difference. If you are a first timer we will have to set up an account with either your photo I.D or a business card – we do pay cash but can always pay via cheque if you prefer.
